The Merlion

It is a status of an imaginary creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, used as a symbol of Singapore. The name of this satatus is Merlion. Mer means the sea. The fish body implies to sea town, which comes from the story of the story of Singapore ancient, and lion head implies to an original name of Singapore, Singapore, means lion city. Fraser Brunner, a member of the Souvenir Committee and curator of the Van Kleef Aquarium, designed it. There are five situation of Merion in Singapore. There are two in Merlion Park near the Sinapore CBD, which is well-known for tourist. A third Merlion is located on Sentosa Island. The fourth is located at the headquarters of the Singapore Tourism Board at 1 Orchard Spring Lane, and the last one is located at Mount Faber. I have been to Singapore before with my family, and of course we did not miss out taking photos with Merlion status, but we did not visit all the fives. The Merlion at Merlion Park is very huge and beautiful. There is a water coming out of his mouth. think, to have a something like this in your country is a good idea because it could be the symbol of your country and it attracts the tourist to visit out country. Moreover, every country's symbol itself also have the story about that country a part from the look. This could be another way of letting tourist know the country's believes or history.

Immigration policy will not upset mix of races among population

Lee Hsien Loon, a Prime Minister of Singapore tends to upgrade the country by trying to urge immigrants from the different communities in Singapore. He also focused on the education, in term of upgrading their education system, he will support young people in every way like arts, music, sports, technical or academic subjects. He also added about the visitibg of Singaporeans to the casinos. He is sort of worried about this would become addicted to it. He was saying with hope that his people will not forget their proper jobs. Singapore is one of the most popular countries in Southeast Asia right now. It is another developed country and it is also another interesting place to visit. They alwas improve and develop their country all the time, even though, the cuntry is just a small island. I wish Thailand could be more developed than Sinapore. We have bigger country and a lot more population but still beyond them un many ways.

There is now a Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, which is held from 14th to 26th August 2010. It was the first Olympic Games ever in Singapore. Yuka Sato, a 18 years old Japanese girl achieved the first gold medal in triathlete on 15 August 2010. Sinapore the host country's first medal was a bronze from winning in taekondo for 17 years old Daryl Tan. Singapore did not achieve any gold medals, the highest medals they got were silvers by swimming and table tennis singles events. From the result, China was the one who achieved most of the gold medals; 30 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals. Then followed by Russia and South Korean. Singapore the host nation was at 62th rank. I think this kind of games is good for the youths to participats because it is another way to show your talent which might lead you to be a professionnal athlete in the future.

Universal Studio

Universal studios Singapore is the newest and largest theme park in all Singapore, which is an addition to Resirt World Sentosa Island. It is the second Universal Studios theme park in Asia and the first in Southeast Asia. This theme park is owned by the Genting Group, which is the trade name of Geting Berhad, established in 1964 by Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, who is a Malaysian entrepreneur. He is also the owner of Genting Highlands, also a famous resort and theme park. The Universal Studios Singapore started construction in Aprill 19th of 2007 and was not finished until Narch 18th 2010. It took them almost three years to complete the construction of this vast theme park. The park has been arranged into 7 different zones; Holloywood Boulevard, island of Nadagascar from the Madagascar movie, Far Far Away from Sherk, The Lost World from Jurassic Park, Ancient Egypt from the Mummies, Sci-fi City, New York. Each zone has a different set of attractions. For example, in the Far Far Away zone, there is a 4D adventure story that includes Shrek and Donkey. This is the only zone that has such an attraction, the rest have rides and shops. Every zone has a shop with vintage items that can only be purchased at Universal Studios Singapore, which is perfect as souvenires for friends and family. It was a blast. We paid about 63 Singapore dollars for the ticket to get in and we got to ride and play every single ride in the park until it closed. This theme park is still very new, since many of the zones are from movies that were recently released and some of the zones were not yet finished, although it was okay, because we had fun on the rides from the other zones.

Singapore failed on floods: Lee Kuan Yew

The Singapore government's measures to reduce the impact of recent floods on home and businesses were insufficient, the island's founding father Lee Kuan Yew said in remarks published Thursday. Lee, commenting on Wednesday after Singpore suffered three bouts of severe flooding since mid-june, added that constant rain and limited land area made it difficult to totally prevent floods in the tropical city-state. Singapore used to be an exception in a region plagued by disasters but the recent flash floods have caused serious property damage and disrupted lives across the island, denting its repotation for urban management. The government has identified 52 flood-prone zones, including the financial district and the Orchard road shopping belt, and some establishments including luxury shops have resourt to installed unsightly sandbag barricades.

The better way to travel in Singapore.

As I have written an article, It said about the rail lines in Singapor. SMRT operates three main rail lines, the North South Line which runs from Marina Bay Station to Jurong East Station via Woodlands Station, and the East West line which runs from Pasir Ris Station, and the Circle Line, which runs from Dhoby Ghaut Station to Marymount Station. If you wish to connect to the North East Line, simply change trains at Dhoby Ghaut Station, Outram Park Station or Serangoon Station For commuters headed to the Singapore Expo Centre or travellers bound for Singapore Changi Airport, hop on board the Singapore Changi Airport Express which calls at Tanah Merah Station. From this article, I think taking SMRT is more comfortable than taking buses because SMRT is more quickly.
